The Hartland Area Historical Society is dedicated to preserving the heritage and history of the Hartland area and educating the community about it through the maintenance and operation of the Florence B. Dearing Museum. Through the years, both individuals and groups have supported the Society's work. Scouts, Questers, Jaycees, local area businesses, and students have all made significant contributions to keep Hartland's history alive.
People, through community involvement, help to continue the work of Florence B. Dearing and the Hartland Area Historical Society. Membership activities include organizing and displaying the museum collections, maintaining the building and grounds, keeping the museum open to the public, guiding group tours as trained docents, and raising funds to continue the work of the Society.
